Dear Musicians, Bands,
Singer/Songwriters & Instrumentalists:

Thanks so much for looking into playing at our event! Our flea markets are fundraisers for a seriously underfunded (but very awesome) park. Your music makes our events fantastic.

Every year, we do a few flea markets and try to have live music at all of them. We supply a PA system, two mics and amplification. We also put chairs in the park, but to be honest, most people listen to music surrounding the park while they're shopping so there's not really a crowd right in front of  you.

We pretty much try to feature anyone who wants to play, but sometimes we get slammed with responses. If you don't hear from us, please keep contacting us. Flea Markets are a lot of work, and things get lost in the shuffle.

One final note: We try to put the singer/songwriters on in the morning and the full bands on in the afternoon. Both times are really busy, but we really feel like the morning should be more mellow.

All the details are below. And thank you SO MUCH on behalf of Capitolo Park.

Sincerely,
Capitolo Flea Market

P.S. If you are interested in helping to organize and book musicians and bands for our flea markets — please get in touch with us!

Here's everything you need to know. If you have questions about the flea market, please check out our FAQ's and rules.

SELECTION: You have a good chance of playing at our event! If you don't get a slot, it's often because the slots got filled up before we heard your music or because we're trying to balance things out. Please indicate if you want to be included for future opportunities and please bug us! Also, please note, all music must be family friendly (no songs about sex, drugs, no curses etc.) and you must send us a link or sample of your work in the form on this page. Please don't find my personal email address and send your info to me because I don't actually pick the bands. These forms go to the person in charge of that part.

LOAD IN: In terms of loading in, we block off space at the entrance of the park for bands to bring their stuff in. You can start loading in while the previous band is playing (if they go that long).

SHARING INSTRUMENTS. SWITCHING SPOTS: If you want to share instruments or switch time slots with a musician that's playing, and they're down with it, that's totally cool, but is not something we can arrange.

SETS: Sets are 30-45 minutes (if you’re really into it, you can take an hour max)

CONTACT: In terms of your contact, you can find Rita or Denise with questions on the day of the event.

MERCH TABLE: You're welcome to set this up if you want to. Mostly people listen from outside the fence while they’re walking around. Bands don’t usually sell much, but feel free to promote when you’re on the mic.
